Plants have been my quiet companions from Hangzhou to Switzerland, and on to New England. A familiar tree outside my Swiss window was enough to cross thousands of miles back to my hometown; rooted in another world, it brought a sense of home to me.
Though trees are bound to their native ground, this portable garden of photographs and notes allows me to carry them across continents. Watching how these plants settle into unfamiliar soil has slowly become a way of looking inward, steadying my own footing in a life spent on the move.
